Mrs. Silvia Ray
Mrs. Silvia Ray will also be joining the Science department. This school year she will be teaching earth science, astronomy, and biology.
“I’ve always been excited about Earth Science, I think it’s important to know about the Earth’s processes, there’s also many ‘a-ha’ moments in science.”
Mrs. Ray received her degrees from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and will be entering her 40th year teaching.
Ray enjoys teaching younger groups of students because “no two days are the same.” “ If I can give[ my students] a tenth of the passion that I have for science, I’ll be successful. I want them to understand the important of Earth, and become knowledgeable voters when it comes to protecting natural resources,” Ray said.
