Seniors Holly Patterson and Rebecca Scearce are recognized before the game on senior night.

Senior cheerleaders, Holly Patterson and Rebecca Scearce, were recognized on February 2, 2016 at one of the final home basketball games, where smiles and tears were inevitable. Although the Trojans were defeated by the Eagles, this was a night to remember. Described by Rebecca, “Everything I’ve done has led up to this moment. The moment I have always waited for.”

Being at their Senior Night game brought a lot of emotions for the two of them, and somehow pushing them into the idea of “growing up”. Surrounded by their fellow cheerleaders was how Holly and Rebecca said goodbye to Tunstall High Cheerleading Squad.

Varsity sponsor Caitlyn Washman has a very positive opinion about the senior cheerleaders and believes that they have influenced the other cheerleaders in skill level. The underclassmen look up to Holly and Rebecca as an inspiration.

Holly Patterson has been doing competitive cheerleading since she was 4-years-old. This has helped her to be herself  and always push herself to do her best. When asked about her working with the lower classmates she shared, “I’ve learned so much from them, and I’m glad I got to cheer with them my last year.”

Although Rebecca has cheered for many years for Tunstall, she is not looking into it for college. She plans to be more focused on her career in medicine.
