“I was required to play a sport at Chatham Hall, so I chose swimming. I thought it would be fun, and I wanted to try something new. It’s in winter, so it’s November all the way through states, which is in February. I’ve done the 50-meter free, 400-meter relay, backstroke, 100-meter breaststroke, and freestyle. For the 400-meter free relay, there’s four people, and the first person does 100 meters. Once they touch the wall, the next person jumps in and does 100 meters and so on. I’ve done the 100-meter breaststroke like once, and I hated it. Your coaches choose your events for you. Freestyle was my favorite.”
