“Teaching is not just a career, it is a way of life. When you become a teacher you are not just working a job. We go to social events that are connected to someone we’ve taught or someone we are teaching. We go to things like art events, plays, dance recitals, music concerts and ball games. They have made an impact on me just like I have tried to make one of them. Because they have made an impact on my career, I want to have an impact on theirs.

High school teachers are a little bit different than other teachers because we are the ones that get to help shape students and mold them the most. We have to be very careful with how we react to things and what we show them. I want to be the best example I can be. I don’t want people to do exactly what I do, but I want to be a good example. Whatever they try to go out and attack, I want to prepare my students for all they will have to do and to encourage them that it is okay to make mistakes.”
