Class of 2023

Christopher will be attending the University of Virginia this upcoming fall. He wants to major in history and education in order to become a high school history teacher. "I have always wanted to make a change in the world. I can do it best through the future leaders of the world." Chris loves history and has been inspired by all of his history teachers.

Haylee Hines plans to attend the University of Virginia in hopes to obtain a degree in neuroscience with concentration in pre-med.

JC will be attending University of Virginia in the fall. He plans to study accounting. "I want to be a certified public accountant."

Jackson will be attending Virginia Tech in the fall. He plans to major in accounting. "I'm good with numbers."

Katie will be attending Longwood University in the fall. She plans to study nursing. "I'm very interesting in the field."

Abby will be attending Virginia Tech in the fall. She plans to major in human nutrition, food, and exercise. "I want to be a registered dietician and help people."

Addy will be attending North Carolina State University. She plans to major in nuclear engineering. "I want to work on military bases to work on new forms of energy."

Michael is planning to attend The University of Virginia in the fall. He plans to study aerospace engineering. “Space is cool, and I think it will be dope.”

Ben is going to be attending Virginia Commonwealth University in the fall. He is majoring in computer science with a software engineering focus. “Growing up my brothers inspired me to start getting into computer science from a young age.” He chose this major because he finds it really interesting and there’s always room to learn new things within the field and improve his skills. ...

Luke will be attending Danville Community College in the fall. He plans to study engineering and precision machining. "I like it and I think it's fun."

Braeden will be attending University of Richmond in the fall. He plans to study chemistry. "I want to pursue an orthodontist career."

Riley will be attending Virginia Tech in the fall. She plans to major in biology to become an orthodontist.

Taylor Grace plans to attend the University of Alabama in the fall. She will be majoring in Kinesiology to hopefully become a physical therapist. She chose Bama because she knew the school would support her and offer opportunities to advance her future. She also loves the beautiful campus and welcoming environment.

Hadyn will be attending University of North Carolina Wilmington in the fall. She plans to major in health science with a minor with communications and rhetoric. "I want to become a speech pathologist."

Kayli will be attending Danville Community College in the fall. She plans to study nursing. "It runs in my family and I love helping people."

Samantha is attending James Madison University in the fall. She plans to study nursing. Martin also plans to become a travel nurse.

Lucas Walker will be attending Radford University in the fall. He plans to major in psychology . "I want to major in psychology, so I can transfer into physical therapy." He wants to do physical therapy so he can help others in need.

Summerlyn will be attending Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School. "I've always loved hair and beauty. Cosmetology is the only thing I've really been interested in my whole life."

MacKenzie will be attending Longwood University in the fall. She plans to major in Elementary and middle school education with a concentration in social sciences. "It's the only thing I've ever wanted to do. My mom somewhat influenced it because I have watched her teach for so long."

Riley will be attending Danville Community College in the fall. She plans to take her general education classes and then transfer to a four year university. She plans to double major in English and business. "I've always had a passion for English, but I feel like having a business degree is more beneficial and practical."

Chloe will be attending James Madison University in the fall. She plans to major in art. "I feel like it's me. I don't want to do anything boring."

Jenna Zickafoose will be attending UNC Wilmington after she graduates to study pediatric nursing. She wants to study this because of her father. Her father is an EMT and he would always tell her stories about what he would do. She's always interested in this field because she's always had that passion of helping kids.

After high school, Grayson Daniel is going straight to the workforce as an elevator mechanic. Daniel has always wanted to go into a work field that was hands-on, and with the traveling and the pay that the job has to offer, he decided that being an elevator mechanic was a job best suited for him. He plans on working right after he graduates.

Jaelyn will be attending Norfolk State University in the fall and plans to major in Business. “I want to get a head start on my clothing brand.”

Taylor will be attending Averett University in the fall. She plans to major in psychology and minor in criminal justice. “I just find it really interesting. I have always been interested in the law side of things.”

Evan is planning to attend DCC to major in business. Evan is unsure of what kind of business he wants to pursue as of right now; however, in his future he hopes to own his very own business.

Luke is attending the University of Virginia in the fall. He plans to major in statistics to become an actuary. “I feel like being an actuary is the best fit for me.”

Caitlyn has plans to attend Longwood University this fall to major in creative writing. While she is still unsure of her path, she hopes to one day become a writer of some sort. She wants a career involving writing, such as journalism or an editor in a publishing house.

Ella Brooks will be attending the University of South Carolina in the fall and majoring in retail management. She chose retail management as her major because she is hoping to become a buyer for a large retail chain, and one day open her own boutique (or multiple). AvaGrace Whitfield is going to DCC next year to do general studies. “I want to get all of my general studies and then transfer out to somewhere like Averett University,” said Whitfield. “I wanted to do it like this so that I can save money and also to avoid the large classis of most other colleges,” said Whitfield. 

Destiny Lynch is going to DCC next year and plans to study nursing specifically pediatrics. “I chose this branch of medicine because I have always been good with kids” said Lynch. “I am excited to graduate to start this next chapter of my life” said Lynch.

Brittany is attending Randolph College in the fall. She plans to study computer science. “I find computers very interesting.”

Bryce Eanes plans to go straight into the workforce after high school. He plans to work for UPS. "I just wanna be a driver and they have great benefits."

Hunter will be attending Virginia Commonwealth University in the fall. He plans to study software engineering. "I've just always been interested in computers."

Aiden will be attending Danville Community College in the fall. He plans to study computer science. "I want to make bands."

Arlyn will be attending Danville Community College in the fall. She plans to study nursing. "I like to help and give back to my community."

Layna will be entering the navy after high school. "I want to travel and just kinda get away."

Hugo will be going straight into the workforce to become an auto mechanic. "It's been my dream ever since I've been a kid."

Gaby is planning on attending Radford University Carilion after the summer. She is going to RUC to study respiratory therapy and hopes to become a physical therapist. "My sister got hurt during our freshman year and I saw her recovery through physical therapy and it intrigued me. Gaby also wants to pursue this career because she generally likes helping other people.

Leara Slattery will be attending Radford University Carilion in the Fall. She plans to go into the nursing program to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse practitioner. Jadyn Bowser graduated from THS in December 2022. She graduated early in order to pursue college life at DCC. Currently, she is studying to become a midwife, a career that specializes in women's reproductive health and childbirth. Kyndal Poole will be going to Danville Community College in the fall and plans on transferring to Longwood or North Carolina A&T. Kyndal plans to study Elementary Education. “Ever since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to become a teacher and follow in the footsteps of my grandmother.”

Alyssa Strider will be attending Northern Virginia Community College where she will be majoring in criminology. She decided to pursue this major to help survivors of domestic violence.

Evan Bartley is going to Virginia Commonwealth University to major in marketing, with a possible minor is business. He originally planned on a purely artistic major with his heart set on graphic design, but decided to major in something that is more vaguely artistic that can apply to many different jobs.

Ethan is going to attend Danville Community College and major in mechanical engineering. “I like working with my hands and getting to create whatever I want, so that's why I choose mechanical engineering,” said Rigsby. 

Zachary is going to attend the University of Virginia after the summer. Zachary plans to major in dentistry to follow in his father's footsteps. “ My reasoning for choosing Dentistry would have to be my father,” said Payne.

India Martin will be attending Danville Community College in the fall. She plans on studying Sonography to become an ultrasound technician. After she gets certified in Sonography she has a goal to open her very own 3D Ultrasound business. “ Becoming an ultrasound technician has been my dream career ever since I was in middle school. Samantha is going to be attending Virginia Commonwealth University. While she's at VCU she will be majoring in business. Samantha chose this major because ever since she was younger she has had a passion to pursue business.

Jasmine plans to attend Danville Community College in the fall and plans to major in Early Childhood Education. “Teaching children brings me joy and happiness.”

William plans to attend Virginia Commonwealth University in the fall. He plans to major in computer engineering. “I have always loved to build computers. I think it is very interesting.”

Selena will be attending trade school in the fall to become a trade sc. “Ever since we got horses in my family, I would always watch my neighbor take care of them. He soon let me help him and eventually taught me how to be a farrier.”

Neveah will be attending Danville Community College in the fall and plans to major in psychology. “I feel like it’s important to have someone my age to talk to people about their problems because depression is very real.” 

Greenly will be attending Patrick and Henry Community College in the fall. She plans to play softball and major in sonography. “I have heard it’s a great field to go into!”

Andrew will be entering the workforce after high school. He plans to become a real estate agent. “I want to work for myself.”

Olivia will be attending Danville Community College in the fall. She plans to study liberal arts to obtain her teaching license in elementary education. “I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was like two years old.”

Haley will be attending Virginia Tech in the fall. Currently she attends pctc and takes the small animal care and veterinary science class. She plans to major in biology to become a veterinarian. “I have always loved animals since I was little and I love helping to take care of people and animals.”

Fisher will be attending Danville Community College in the fall. He plans to major in business. “I want to become my own boss one day.”

Gracie will be attending Averett University in the fall. She is planning to major in business and financing. She also plans to play volleyball for Averett. “I feel like there are a lot of opportunities in the business field.”

Ashlyn is attending University of Lynchburg in the fall and plans to major in biology. “I want to become a physical therapist. I have always wanted to be a part of the medical field. I have been interested in this field since freshman year.”

Pablo is attending Danville Community College in the fall and plans to partake in the Automotive Technology program. “I want to learn more about how to work on cars.” 

Dallas will be attending University of Virginia in the fall. Dallas plans to study biology because he wants to become a physical therapist. “I’m just interested in activity in general.”

John is going to attend East Carolina University to double major in biology and chemistry. “I want to go to medical school and become a dermatologist. I have had a lot of experience with dermatology, and I am just really interested in the field.”

Emma will be attending George Mason University after the summer. Emma is planning to major in psychology seeing as she takes interest in how humans as a whole work. “I want to research how the brain works.”

Trey is going to be attending Radford University in the fall. Trey plans to study kinesiology at the college so he can continue working alongside athletes. “I want to work more with athletes, and kinesiology will allow me to do that.”

Lucas will be attending Danville Community College in the fall and plans to take the precision machinery program. “It's a reliable job and you can't go wrong with it.”

Robert will be attending Danville Community College in the fall. He plans to take the Automotive analysis and Repair Program. “I work in a mechanic shop and working on cars is what I love to do and the profession I am going to pursue.”

Raymond will be attending Radford University in the fall. He plans to major in computer science. Ladd will also play baseball for Radford. “I love working with computers and I like their baseball field.”
