Loving Louis

The solo career of Louis Tomlinson
Loving+Louis

Louis Tomlinson was one of the five members of the former boy band One Direction. He was born on December 24, 1991. He is an absolute short king, and since the band “dispersed” he has continued his career in his own beautiful way.

Tomlinson was the last member of the band to release a solo album… you know …best for last. While some may say Louis has been less successful than some of his former bandmates, he has in no way dropped the ball. In fact, I would argue he has been more successful in a lot of ways.

Tomlinson chose to release his album when he was personally ready instead of rushing into a solo career in order to keep the promise of old fans. He has not only chosen to release music that he could be really proud of, but he has also been able to maintain a level of personal privacy in his life.

In 2017 Tomlinson’s son, Freddie, was born making him the first band member to have a kid at only 24. Fatherhood obviously takes a big part in someone’s life, and Tomlinson wanted to make sure he played a big role in his son’s life.

His first solo album.

Walls, released in 2020, introduced the first part of Tomlinson’s solo career. With songs like “Defenceless”, “Perfect Now”, and “We Made It”, Tomlinson showed an ever present talent for poppy and catchy songs that target mainly toward the teenage girl demographic, while still incorporating a more grown up sound and lyrical composition.

Faith in the Future was Tomlinson’s second solo album and it made it to 14 on the Hot Trending Songs chart with the track “Bigger Than Me”.

When Tomlinson released his documentary, All of Those Voices, in March of 2023 fans were ecstatic. It was the personal insight we had been craving since his days in One Direction.

The things that make him so beautiful:

“Defenceless”: I come runnin’ to you like a moth into a flame. You tell me, “Take it easy,” but it’s easier to say. Wish I didn’t need so much of you. I hate to say but I do.

He wrote “Love You Goodbye”.

He invited each former band member to the premiere of his documentary. Only one came.

Overall, Tomlinson is an absolutely great person and he is extremely talented. He has a love for his fans that is enviable and his heart is huge. He is sure to have a very long and successful career, and his fans will continue to love him.
