There are many great music artists of 2024.Many beloved artists this year have come out with new songs and albums, such as Chief Keef, Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish, 21 Savage and many more. The real question is, “Who is the best artist of 2024?”
Chief Keef is a very popular artist among students who enjoy the rap category. This year he produced a new album titled Almighty So 2. This is his fifth studio album, and it was released on May 10th, 2024. The most popular song in this album is “Tony Montana Flow.” It is about life on the streets mixed with a life of luxury. Another popular song by Chief Keef is “Faneto” which a lot of fans also enjoy.
Taylor Swift has been popular for many years, and she just keeps getting more and more well known. She came out with a brand new album this year called, “The Tortured Poets Department.” This album was released on April 19th, 2024. The most popular song in this album is called “Fortnight”– a song Swift collaborated with Post Malon. Taylor Swift’s career in music started when she was just fourteen years old after her family had moved to Nashville, Tennessee so she could pursue her dream.
Another new and upcoming artist is Sabrina Carpenter. She recently released an album called Short n’ Sweet. Along with this, she also released a music video for one of the songs called “Taste.” One student at Tunstall who is obsessed with music, especially music of 2024, is Matthew Nosse. His favorite artist of 2024 is Sabrina Carpenter. “She’s a unique artist with a unique style, and she reminds me of when I was little listening to the original 1989 album by Taylor Swift,” senior Matthew Nosse said. One of his favorite songs by Sabrina Carpenter is “Espresso,” which came out as a single but is now a part of her new album Short n’ Sweet. In his words, this song is “a banger.”
Billie Ellish also came out with a new album this year. Its name is Hit Me Hard and Soft.. People also call it HMHS. There are ten songs in this album, and they are all equally as sad as the other. The most popular song in this album is “The Diner,” which tells a story of a stalker but from the stalker’s point of view. Other songs in the album such as “Lunch” and “Birds of a Feather” have been trending on Tik Tok and Instagram ever since they were released. This album was released on May 17th and many people still stream this song even months later.
Another popular artist of 2024 is 21 Savage; he is a well-known rapper. His new album is called American Dream. It was released early in the year on January 12th. The number one song in this album is called “American Dream.” This album has been described by 21 Savage’s mother as it guides listeners through 21 Savage’s experiences with resilience, sacrifice, and the pursuit of the “American Dream.” Another song that blew up on Tik Tok is “Redrum” which students thought was number one because of how popular it was.
Although there were many great artists producing music this year, my favorite would have to be Billie Eilish. Billie Eilish is an inspiring artist, who started her career at just the age of fifteen. Billie’s style and the way she expresses herself through her music is, in my opinion, unmatched amongst any of the other artists this year.
