Mixin’ it up with Mrs. Lee
“Even jocks need to learn chemistry,” says Mrs. Lee.
Tomi Lee has described her job as a chemistry teacher with THS as, “a gift that I finally discovered in my later years of life.”
Mrs. Lee has been working at THS for 1 year, but has worked at DPS and Hargrave Military Academy previously. “I graduated from Morris Brown College with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Liberty University with an Masters of Business and Administration, and Masters of Education in Administration. “I am certified to teach Chemistry, I have always taught Biology during my previous appointments.” says Lee.
Lee came to THS due to her husband, Tayon Lee receiving a head coach position for the girls basketball program.” Our daughters, Tayanna and Tommari play basketball as their main sport, so they transferred to Tunstall from Chatham to play for their dad.”
“At the end of the year, the former Chemistry teacher retired and there was an opportunity for me to move to Tunstall High School with my family. God is truly good!” said Lee.
With her children here, she says, ” I really enjoyed being here with my girls and taking part in their high school experience.”
With a dash of lesson plans, and a pinch of basketball and track, and a large heaping of taking care of her family, Mrs. Lee has the ingredients to balance out her busy life.
