Rachael Platten ignites hope through her album

October 5, 2016

In the world of pop music, it is rare to find a song with substance to it. However, there is one artist whose songs not only have catchy beats, but meaningful lyrics.

Her name is Rachael Platten and her top-selling album is Wildfire.

Although Wildfire was released in January of this year, the thirteen songs can still be heard on the radio today. Her most well-known track would be “Fight Song.” This can be heard on a variety of stations and on car commercials. In fact, Taylor Swift was such a fan of her work, Swift invited Platten to be the opening act for her concert.

What makes Platten a hit is not only her infectious charisma, fairy-like sense of style, and beautiful voice, but the encouragement her songs bring.

She tried to get into music early on, but was not successful. Her friends and family told her to give it up and move back home.

Platten did not listen to them and fans today are very glad she did not. Her supporters leave comments on social media all the time telling Platten how her music has saved their lives.

“Fight Song” and “Stand by You” have become the anthems of those struggling with cancer and mentally ill patients along with their caregivers. St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital includes her music in many of their promotional videos.

However, her lyrics can touch not only those going through tremendous battles, but people who are struggling with day-to-day stresses.

All of her songs highlight the beauty that comes from pain, which is something every human has or will experience. Her album motivates people to keep pushing forward no matter how hard the situation is.

It truly is a “better place” since Rachael Platten has come along.
