Spirit Week: celebrating the Trojan way

The first day of spirit week kicked off in boots, overalls, and plaid shirts. The outfits seen were not limited to only everyday farm attire, but animals and crops made an appearance, as well. Chickens, cows, ducks, and pigs could be found roaming the hall along with a corn stalk here and there. The outside of the school was decorated also to look like a barn with hay bales, a white fence, and red...

When students wish upon a star (or vote on the spirit week poll), they get to have Once Upon a Time Tuesday, also known as Disney Day. The costumes ranged from Dumbo to monster James P. Sullivan (Sully). The science wing was decorated with a castle drawing that students had to go through. The halls were full of creative costumes with Minnie and Mickey Mouse being the most popular.

The third day of spirit week was an easy day; students simply had to hit their alarm, hop out of bed, and drive to school. Pajama Day participants enthusiastically walked through the halls with teddy bears and pillows in hand, slippers on their feet, and curlers in their hair. Beyoncé's "Flawless" song was the anthem for the day. The main hall even had a bed and sofa set up to create a lazy feel. ...

The fourth day of spirit week had the motto "Go Greek!" written all over it evident by the letters hanging from the ceiling. The majority of students dressed as frat boys with polos, khakis, Nike socks, and hats backward. The other option was to support favorite colleges by wearing their attire.

The week came to a close on Friday with Spirit Day. The halls were decked in red streamers and a large banner that read "THS! I love it!" Outfits were anything from class shirts to tutus and football jerseys. Red sneakers were popular along with bandanas and face paint. The energy leading up to Pep Rally and the Homecoming game was felt all through the day.
