Prepping for prom: food edition

Attention all of my frugal friends! The time for planning your pre-prom meal has come upon us and I am here to bring you my list of nice but reasonably priced restaurants to indulge at before you get your dance on.

  1. Santana’s Restaurant and Grill
This restaurant, located between Riverside and The Danville Mall, is the perfect blend between Mexican and American food. Whether your date is adventurous or conservative when it comes to trying new things this restaurant is the perfect fit. The menu can be found on their website here.
  2. La Nostra Cucina
This new restaurant provides customers with exceptional Italian food, including some not served anywhere else in Danville. This restaurant also includes a salad bar and a great atmosphere. This is one of the most expensive places on the list; however, the amount of food you get is proportional to how much you pay. The location and photos can be found here.
  3. Moon River Thai
The atmosphere of this place is absolutely perfect for prom night and the price is even better. While they do not have very many options for your conservative eater, this is a great place to venture outside of your comfort zone and try something new. The menu can be found on their website here.
  4. Dellano’s Pizza Kitchen
Located on Main Street, this restaurant offers a beautiful patio to customers for outside dining along with a generous amount of tables inside. The menu ranges from fresh subs to flavorful calzones and is all reasonably priced. Photos of the restaurant and menu can be found here.
  5. Me’s Burgers and Brews
This library themed restaurant is a great place for burgers and a more casual atmosphere. This place is perfect for those not wanting to try anything new on their prom night and offers a great variety of burgers along with a vegetarian option. The website can be found here.
  6. Tokyo Grill
This popular spot is a great destination for prom night. While not offering very many options for the conservative eater, most Danvillians find themselves eating their entire rice bowl with the addition of a little white sauce. The menu can be found here.
  7. Joe and Mimma’s
This italian restaurant is a great fit for prom night. Providing customers with the basic italian foods along with a salad bar, Joe and Mimma’s is within the average budget and gives you a great bang for your buck. Their menu can be found here.
  8. Cotton at Riverside Mill
The trick to eating cheaply here, is to look at the menu and split food items. One can order a delicious personal pizza and split it among two individuals and be perfectly full. The atmosphere at this restaurant is great for a nice prom night, displaying art work around the venue and offering a nicely decorated patio for customers. Photos of the venue along with the menu can be found here.
  9. Tacos Marierlin
This tucked-away restaurant is perfect for authentic Mexican food and is comparable to the food truck found at the end of Mount Cross. Offering seafood and freshly cut meat, this restaurant is a great fit for Mexican food lovers. Photos of the website and the menu can be found here.
