On Sunday, May 20, the baccalaureate service for the class of 2018 was held in the auditorium at 8:30 a.m.

The processional began with senior Anna Catherine Kueng playing “Pomp and Circumstance” on piano, then senior Jordan Keatts led the welcome and opening prayer.

Following this, a select number of seniors were called on stage to read their favorite inspirational quotes to the audience.

Senior Ava Wood then took the stage to sing “By Your Side,” by Tenth Avenue North, while playing the ukulele.

Jordan Keatts introduced the two speakers, both of which were from Faith Memorial Baptist Church.

The first speaker was Pastor Seth Lackey and he delivered an inspirational message titled “Principles to Live By.” Following this, Pastor Austin Merricks gave closing remarks.

The closing prayer was given by senior Jacob Keatts. After the prayer, graduates walked out to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts.

There was a candle lit on stage in memory of senior Hannah Cousins.

After the service, a brief reception was held in the cafeteria where seniors and their families could enjoy breakfast foods, like cinnamon buns.

A special thanks to the parents of the graduating class of 2018 for sponsoring the event.
