“I joined band because I have a lot of musical heritage. My dad always took me to band competitions and Drum Corps International. He was a director at his school so I was just always along with him. I joined in 6th grade and I’ve always loved percussion. I play the marimba. We’re in the front and we play with different keys and different chords; you have to know piano to do it.”
