Spring trends are on the rise. Social media algorithms are flooded with new fashion inspiration for upcoming warmer months. The shoe department has really taken the spotlight when it comes to trends. People seem to have varying opinions about the different shoe styles and brands that are taking the stage this spring.
Junior Kayleigh Mazza has been keeping up with the latest trends and has recently purchased a brand new pair of Doc Martens. They are a special pair of brown Mary Jane style shoes that have dainty flowers around the top. She had been waiting for them to drop because she knew she needed them for this spring. Although Mazza has many spring time shoes that she would hate to give up, if she had to choose one pair, it would be her white Birkenstocks. She says they “match with everything” and are very comfortable.
Junior Delaney Mantooth has also hopped on the Doc Martin train with a pair of classic, black Mary Janes. “I love them because they always elevate any outfit and they look so cute with my dresses for church.” She also loves her Adidas Gazelles because they are comfortable, yet stylish. Delaney finds the majority of her shoe inspiration from social media platforms such as Pinterest and TikTok. But one trend that has infested Delaney’s page is the very popular yellow Frye boots, as Delaney thinks the yellow color is a very statement color that will not match with very many outfits which makes them an unreasonable purchase for the high price. She claims that the Frye boots in a more neutral color are very stylish and are more reasonable.
Sophomore Bella Jared’s favorite spring shoes are her classic Birkenstocks because of their comfort level and are perfect for day-to-day warm weather outfits. While some people have hopped on the bandwagon of lacy sandals for special occasions, Bella finds this trend to be one of the less appealing trends and will not be partaking in it. For fancier occasions, she loves pulling out a more simple pair of gold flip flops. The kitten heel trend has also taken over Jared’s Pinterest and Instagram feed but is more of a statement than other shoe trends. “I always thought kitten heels were cute because I see people on Instagram wear them, but I don’t think I ever would.”
While surely not all of the spring trends have made their entrance yet, these girls are ahead of the game with their spring shoes.
