Tunstall High School is covered in snow, as Pittsylvania County received nearly ten inches of the wintry mix.

Students have continued to enjoy their many days off due to the snow but this time, Pittsylvania County has nearly gotten ten inches, keeping most people from leaving their homes.

Some have opted for staying warm inside and relaxing. Junior Emily Komornik said, “[I have been] mostly staying inside cuddling with my puppy, watching old Disney movies, and drinking hot cocoa!”

Junior Samantha Shelton said she has been “sitting at home watching movies.”

Another way to spend a snow day is going and playing outside. “I’ve been riding four-wheelers, jumping on snowy trampolines, and making snow angels,” said senior Ali Wiles.

“Riding four-wheelers,” is how senior Casey Dillion has enjoyed the snow.

Senior Austin Hutchinson said he has been watching movies with his girlfriend and “going to my grandparents house sledding mostly because they have a nice hill.”

Senior Claire Gray has stayed busy. “On Wednesday I made Valentine’s Day cake pops and then ate chili and watched a movie as the snow continued to fall. I read The Metamorphosis, made a government PowerPoint, and I’m working on a stack of scholarships!” She said she might head outside to play in the snow later because she is tired of being stuck in the house. She continued, “I’m wishing it was summer instead of being stuck inside, wasting away our days of spring break!”

Freshman Logan McCubbins said she has been “drinking hot chocolate, riding four-wheelers, sledding, and spending time with my friends!”

Logan has also spent some time with her cousin, freshman Landyn Harris, who said, “I like spending time with my family and friends and having snowball fights, riding four-wheelers, and sledding.”

Senior Ethan Purnell said he has been “making a bunch of snowmen. I’m going to make a snowman roadblock.”

Several students haven’t had such an enjoyable time. Junior Victoria Sater said, “Honestly, I’ve been in the house calling insurance companies. I slid into a ditch and then a truck slid into me and then a van hit me and we were all piled up for awhile. My step-dad had to come get me on a fire truck.” She made it out in tact but said her car is “pretty messed up.”
