Get ready to dip, duck, dive, and dodge at the THS dodgeball tournament. This tournament took place on Nov. 21 at 1:30 p.m. Sponsored by Tunstall’s Beta Club, this tournament was held to increase attendance before being out for Thanksgiving break.

The week before the tournament students who wanted to participate in either playing or watching were able to pay outside the cafeteria. If you were just watching you had to pay $1 and if you wanted to play you had to pay $3. Students who paid were dismissed to the gymnasium after third lunch. Throughout the tournament concessions were offered to students and faculty.

The first round of the tournament was freshman vs. sophomores. For the sophomore team Joe Wilson was the last person against the freshman. Unfortunately, Wilson ended up getting hit with the dodgeball, and he was eliminated. The freshman ended up pulling out a win.

The second round was the juniors vs. seniors. Kaden Brower was the last guy from the juniors against Patrick Snow on the senior’s team. Brower ended up hitting Snow and winning the round for the juniors.

The third round was teachers vs. seniors which the students really enjoyed. A few of the teachers that were competing were Mr Huffman, Mrs. Yeatts, Mr. Tittiris, Mr. Moore, Mr. Bowman, Mr. Shelton, Mr. Brown, and Mr. Hairston. Unfortunately, the teachers did lose and the seniors came out with a win.

Afterwards, students came together and formed their own teams. Some of the teams that competed were Ice Spice elite, Rod Wave elite, Lost Toys, and Slime Ballz. These rounds let the different grade levels team up and work together to bring out a win.

This tournament was a good way for students to have something fun before Thanksgiving break. It kept the students excited throughout the day and encouraged them to stay at school before the break.
