Senior year is filled with many exciting activities, but students are most intrigued with the event called, “Senior Assassin.” The event is run by students and an app called “Splashin” and not school affiliated. As individuals go around town and see teenagers with goggles and floaties on, do not be alarmed or weirded out. They’re just trying to finish senior year with one more core memory.
The point of the game is getting your assigned target out with a water gun and becoming the last person standing. Anyone is safe from elimination if you wear goggles on a regular day, but on purge day the player has to wear goggles and floaties.
An individual is given a target that they are assigned to squirt, but on purge day everyone is fair game. This game brings many students public embarrassment, but most students do not care about the judgement. They are so blindsided about the accomplishment of squirting their target, that they do not care about anything else.
Amaiya Price is a frequent name people hear when Senior Assassin is brought up. She has waited outside of individuals’ work places for hours, and has shown her dedication towards the game. Amaiya has had a crazy incident occur during the start of the event. ”Someone showed up at my house, and my dad flipped out. Now everyone wants to come to my house to tease my dad,” Price said.
Price also got reactions from others when in search of fellow seniors to eliminate. “When I walked into places that I thought my target was, and they weren’t, the employees would get irritated.” As of April 27, Amaiya has gotten two individuals out.
Although Joe Wilson has not eliminated anyone in Senior Assassin, he has been an active player in the game. Wilson has camped out in another student’s car during their nail appointment, but still did not get his target out. When hearing about the start of the game Joe was pretty ecstatic about the event. Wilson said, “It gives me something to do after school that isn’t work.” Wilson also went to Walmart at six in the morning to try to get a student out with his floaties and goggles on.
The game started with over 80 seniors and is now down to 58 students The game will continue until the end of the school year, and there is not a set finish for the game yet.
