The plans that you have to decide so far in life in some eyes, is just right around the corner for juniors. As they look into their future, and their high school careers come to an end. Individuals learn the juniors future plans, and what their goals for the future are. Although some might not know their exact plans, they know the direction they want to head in.
Junior Patrick Nester’s future plans include getting a business degree and hopefully becoming a real estate agent. Patrick wants to continue his baseball career in college as well. He has not decided on where he desires to go yet, but has been looking at one specific thing in college. Nester added, “The only thing I’ve looked at in college is the meal plan honestly.”
Although he does not have all his plans yet, he has a start to his future. His motivation for business is Mrs. Carter. Patrick said, “She is a really good teacher, and has inspired me to go in the business direction.” Patrick’s biggest inspiration when it comes to his future is his mom. She always has motivated him and kept him on top of all his necessities.
Junior Luke Snow at THS has a start plan for his future already. Snow plans to go to Coastal Carolina and study PGM. Luke added, “I am a real big fan of golf, and find the most interest in the subject.” He started making plans for his future a year ago when one of his friends suggested he should proceed with PGM after high school. Luke’s biggest lookout when looking into college is simply the people and atmosphere. Snow said, “I don’t want to go to a boring college, because I’ll lose my personality if I do.” With Luke always doing his own things, he does not think he is prepared for life after high school because he knows either way he is going to do something stupid. His biggest influence is simply his dad. He feels that he has led him to success already in life, and feels motivated from his dads work.
With Azul entering her last 2 months of junior year, she learns what she wants to pursue after high school. Azul plans on starting classes on real estate, and after finishing school for her career she plans to move to Charlotte for better opportunities. Azul added, “I plan to go to New York to take some courses for real estate, but I’ve not 100% figured it out yet.” Azul knew from her childhood the career field she wanted to go into. She elaborates, “I loved looking at all the houses in neighborhoods as a kid, and touring them.” If the career of real estate does not work out, Azul plans to work in a fashion design field and become a runway model. She is most influenced by her father, Azul has always felt his support and love through everything in life and she knows he will continue to do that during her career journey.
After hearing from many juniors, it is clear that there is no single path to success in your career paths. Although the future may look unpredictable for some juniors, the answer to the future will come when students least expect it. The pressure of answers to future plans grows each day, but so do the opportunities that appear. Each student’s path is unique in their own way, and that is the highlight of each individual’s life story.
