Dropping in on OG Fortnite

Dropping+in+on+OG+Fortnite

Fortnite, the cultural phenomenon that took the gaming world by storm, has undergone a remarkable evolution since its beginning days. Born from the creative minds at Epic Games, Fortnite has transcended the boundaries of a typical battle royale game, becoming a global entertainment juggernaut.

In its OG iteration, Fortnite introduced players to a vibrant and ever-changing island where 100 competitors fought for survival. The iconic battle bus, the whimsical landscape, and the distinct building mechanic quickly set Fortnite apart. The OG days were characterized by simpler skins, limited emotes, and the exhilarating rush of being the last person standing.

The OG Fortnite map, with locations like Tilted Towers and Retail Row, holds a special place in the hearts of early players. However, Epic Games demonstrated their commitment to innovation by introducing map changes and evolutions. The OG island gave way to new landscapes, keeping the game fresh and exciting. But all of this has changed, because as of November 3rd, the OG map is back.

Since we’re going back, I thought instead of talking about all the locations and items coming back, we think about all the people, clips, and memories that made Fortnite.

NinjasHyper, The Revolver God

This is the clip that put me on to Ninja. The arguable G.O.A.T of Fortnite was lost in Tilted Towers with nothing but two revolvers and two snipers. He then found himself in a firefight with a full squad of players. With only revolvers and 1 HP, Ninja was able to take out the entire squad himself creating one of the most famous clips of all time.

Ali-A, The Greatest 360

Ali-A is a Fortnite Youtuber best known for how bad he is at the game. Ali-A’s “360” encapsulates his skill at the game perfectly. During this clip, Ali-A is in a 1v1 fight to win the game. He finds the last player and is able to Boogie Bomb him, forcing him to get jiggy with it.

While the opponent was dancing, Ali-A proceeded to do a 360 degree turn to try and hit a trickshot on him, but it ended up taking what felt like 30 seconds for him to turn. He did land the trickshot after 5 missed shots, once again creating a hilarious memory.

TSM Daequan, The Double Pump King

I cannot talk about OG Fortnite without mentioning this man. Daquan is the funniest Fornite streamer I have ever watched. Although all his clips are memorable, one stands out over the rest. In a 1v1v1 scenario, Daquan launches off a tower in Lonely Lodge and gets an elimination mid air. The bouncer he launched off of is supposed to prevent fall damage, and it did, but he ended up dropping off a ledge and died immediately. He subsequently got mad and called the game trash.
